Introducing Poster Sessions at OLF Conference
Posters are popular in academic conferences to discuss technical ideas with colleagues and garner support for future projects.
OLF Conference is opening up poster opportunities to anyone from the community that has a project of interested to users, contributors, and enthusiasts of the Open Libre Free community.
Dr. Cosmin Roman, our poster chair, has presented posters in the past and is leading OLF Conference into being a conference that has posters.
Why should you present a poster?
In 2024, Cosmin Roman attended OLF Conference with a dream of having an Ohio Linux license plate. Armed with a poster and clipboard for signatures, he gathered enough interest from Ohio residents to make it happen. Without the poster, it would have been difficult to capture the interest and carry out the vision to fruition.
Poster Possibilities:
- Local technology organizations seeking members and volunteers.
- Free Software projects raising awareness and recruiting contributors
- Story boards of how you used your favorite Free Software Project.
- Other projects that need community support to get off the ground.
- Yes – even the traditional academic poster on computer science topics.
