Almost since the beginning, the OLF Conference has held Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions. This continues for 2025, though the format will be a little different than usual.

For those who are not familiar with them, a BoF is usually a less formal and more interactive session than your typical presentation. The idea is to get a group of people interested in the same topic together and let the magic happen. Past BoFs have been organized around topics such the Vim editor, running Linux user groups, game development, Google Summer of Code, and automation and orchestration tools.

Because of OLF 2025’s one-day, one-room format, all BoF sessions will take place during the lunch break on Saturday, December 6. They will start at 12:00 after the last morning presentation is over and run until 12:30. To collect BoF ideas, we have set up an application form where you can let us know about your session ahead of time. What topic do you want to talk about with others? Let us know and we’ll try to give you a place to do that! We’ll update the BoF page to list sessions as they are scheduled.

The earlier you can submit your proposal, the better—this will help us get the word out earlier and hopefully attract more people to your session! But we will continue accepting sessions as long as we can.

We’re excited to see what you can come up with! Please contact Vance Kochenderfer at vance@ohiolinux.org with any questions.
